1. Red Hat certification
Red Hat certification is recommended, but not required for Cloud Pak for Data partners.
This requirement applies to any part of your product that is containerized software that runs in the same Kubernetes cluster as the IBM offering.
To be a Verified solution for the IBM Cloud Pak and Edge Computing offerings, Red Hat container image certification is required for any part of your product that is containerized and runs in the same Kubernetes cluster as the IBM offering.
Refer to the Partner Guide for Red Hat OpenShift for instructions on how to certify your container images: https://redhat-connect.gitbook.io/partner-guide-for-red-hat-openshift-and-container/
Our point of view on operators
We don't require you to have Red Hat OpenShift operators, but we believe you should have a strategy for getting to operators -- and we have a team of experts to help you!
There are go-to-market benefits of Operators. Red Hat OpenShift embedded OperatorHub is exposed to customers of IBM Cloud Paks. Having your operator appear in that embedded OperatorHub enables Cloud Pak customers to deploy and manage your software.
Your operator will be listed in the Red Hat Container catalog: https://catalog.redhat.com/software/operators/search
